How to keep a dashboard screen logged into OFS

When you're setting up a large-format display or TV to show OFS information, it's useful for the screen to stay logged in around the clock without needing someone to sign in each time it reloads.

OFS authentication is controlled by the web browser, which needs to present a username and password to access your protected OFS resources. OFS doesn't control how often the browser resets this login information, so your device may prompt you to re-authenticate periodically or whenever it reloads.

Step 1 — Try embedding your login in the URL

Some browsers let you save login details by adding them directly to the URL you use to open your OFS console. Whether this works depends on your browser software.

To embed your credentials, add

username:password@

to your URL just before the hostname, replacing username and password with your own OFS login details. For example:

Regular URL https://client.ofsxpress.com/analytics

Embedded URL https://username:password@client.ofsxpress.com/analytics

Step 2 — Let your browser save the login

After you sign in successfully, your browser may offer to save the credentials you used for future visits. Accepting this can speed up, or skip, the login prompt on later visits.
