OFS v11 Update 2 introduces Calculation Fields to OFS Flow, adding the ability to calculate the outcome of data entered by the user and/or Product Metadata.
Summary
OFS has introduced the ability to calculate fields in OFS Flow forms. Calculations can be based on the value of other form fields, as well as constants and product metadata. This will help to validate complex requirements like average checks, and we are excited to hear how it helps you!
Feature Overview
- Support in OFS Fusion Manager for building Flow Forms with Calculation Fields
- Support for Calculation Fields in OFS Flow, the Flow App and in OFS-X Analytics
Enabling Calculations
When building forms in v11.5, calculations are not enabled by default. They can be enabled by the Enable Flow Calculations Field toggle under General Settings in the Advanced Settings menu in Fusion Manager.
Building forms with Calculation Fields
Once enabled, the calculation field will be available as an option when building forms in Fusion Manager.
Once a calculation field has been added to a form, calculations can be added as a formula (visible when the calculation field is selected).
Data from other fields can be referenced via the data object for use in the formula. (See image below for example).
The Default Value field does not work for calculation fields - The formula result is the value that will be displayed for a calculation field.
Calculation Field Validation
As with other field types, validation rules can be applied to calculation fields via the Field Validation Rules field tab.
Raising forms that have Calculation Fields
There are no changes to raising forms that have calculation fields. It is worth noting however that once raised, calculation field values are only calculated and validated once a user has interacted with a raised form.
