Which usernames display when a comment is entered?

Explore how usernames are displayed differently based on where comments are entered in OFS.

OFS will display a different username when logging a comment in OFS depending on which method the user used to add the comment.

Via the Operator Console

Typically, the console will stay logged in using a generic 'console' user account regardless of which crew is currently operating the line.

In order to maintain traceability, and allow the Author of the comment to be identified, entering comments via the feedback box on the Operator Console will result in the author being displayed as the currently logged-in Operator.

Via Analytics or the Events Chart

Entering a comment via the OFS Events Chart, Edit Tool or in Analytics will result in the comment author being recorded as the username of the currently logged in user account.

This is due to the fact that these comments are typically made through individual user accounts, and not directly though the Operator Console interface. Oftentimes, these are also made retrospectively by Administrators or other Analytics Users.
