Which usernames are displayed when a comment is entered?

Explains why comments show different usernames depending on whether they're entered via the Operator Console or via Analytics and the Events Chart.

OFS displays a different username on a comment depending on how it was entered.

Via the Operator Console

The console typically stays logged in under a generic console user account, regardless of which crew is currently operating the line.

To keep comments traceable to the person who wrote them, a comment entered through the feedback box on the Operator Console is recorded under the name of the operator who was logged in at the time.



Via Analytics or the Events Chart

A comment entered through the Events Chart, the Edit Tool, or Analytics is recorded under the username of the account that was logged in when it was made.

This is because these comments are made through individual user accounts rather than the shared console login — often added retrospectively by administrators or other Analytics users.
