Updating the firmware on your WISE-4050/Lan or WISE-4051 PLC can provide a number of benefits such as reliability improvements, new features and bug fixes.
There are two main ways of connecting to your device in order to update the firmware that it's currently running; Direct IP and Initial Mode.
Direct IP
The Direct IP approach requires you to know the PLC's current IP Address on the network and your computer to be able to communicate with the PLC.

Initial Mode
The WISE-4051 PLC has a feature called Initial Mode that enables it to create its own wireless network. Other devices can connect to this network, making it easy to reconfigure the PLC without requiring knowledge of its current networking settings.
Enabling Initial Mode will require access to the physical device & access to switches on the back of the device.
