OFS v11 introduces a dashboard for customers who use OFS for two jobs at once - where a job is packed while another is made
For a long time, OFS has been able to simultaneously count two jobs - one being made, while another is being packed. This is useful for factory processes which have a long lag time, like baking bread, firing pottery, or production where product needs to be frozen.
Feature Overview
With the OFS Packaging Dashboard, operators at the "back-end" of these processes can see how production have tracked, and how many units they have produced which are due to be packed. Visibility is offered over the Order Quantity, Number of Units Produced and the Total Packed.
This interface is an opt-in interface which will be offered to customers who are using manual finalisation today.
The interface allows users to also optionally commit their manual finalisation (once the last unit of the job has been packed, closing the order) via this interface:
Key Considerations
To use this feature effectively, your OFS deployment needs to be:
- Configured to use manual finalisation
- Configured with manually finalised OFS counters around the same point - the feature is designed to simplify existing Manual Finalisation use cases.
- Using modern web browsers - this feature has been tested in modern installations of Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefox but is not known to work in Internet Explorer or IE Mode.
