How to create a save button on your flow form

Sometimes an operator needs to save a form partway through, without finishing it. Adding a dedicated "Save" workstate lets them do that.

Step 1 — Turn off Required on your form's fields

Toggle Required off for each field in your form. A required field that's still empty will block submission — including submission into a partial-save state.

Step 2 — Open the Workflows area

In Alerts & Flow, go to the workflows section for this alert.

Step 3 — Create or open a workflow

Create a new workflow, or open the existing one your form uses.

Step 4 — Add a new Open state named "Save"

Add a new Open state and name it Save.

Step 5 — Turn on Permit valid Form and Permit invalid Form

Click the pencil icon on the Save state and make sure both Permit valid Form and Permit invalid Form are toggled on.

This is what lets the operator submit into Save regardless of whether every field is filled in correctly yet — without both flags on, an incomplete form wouldn't be allowed into this state.

If you want the form to reappear on the console after being saved (rather than staying closed), also toggle on Interrupt.

Step 6 — Save

Save your changes in the top right corner.
