How to configure downtime reasons for monitor points?

This article covers two approaches: a small, curated list of reasons for Monitor Point events, or attaching a bulk list of existing reasons in one go.

Creating a select list of monitor point reasons

Use this approach if you only want a small list of reasons to appear for monitor point events, rather than your whole reason tree.

Step 1 — Open the reason you want to add

Expand the reason you'd like to make available for the monitor point.

Step 2 — Add the Monitors group

Add Monitors as a Group, then click OK.

Step 3 — Save your changes

Click Save.

Adding a bulk list of reasons to monitor point events

Use this approach if you want to attach all of your existing reasons to monitor point events at once.

Step 1 — Open Import & Export

Click Import & Export.

Step 2 — Export your reason list

Click Export. This downloads a CSV file containing all of your reasons.

Step 3 — Add the Monitors group in the file

Open the downloaded CSV file in Excel. In the Span Group column, type relay for any reason you want to make available to monitor points, then copy this down to every reason you want to include.

relay is the correct value to enter here — it's the same internal name OFS uses for Monitor Points elsewhere in the platform (for example, in Analytics and the Event Chart), even though the reason dialogue itself labels this group "Monitors".

Step 4 — Save the file

Save your changes in Excel.

Step 5 — Choose the file in Fusion Manager

Go back to Fusion Manager and choose the reason list CSV file you just edited.

Step 6 — Import the file

Import the file back into Fusion Manager.

Step 7 — Save your changes

Click Save.
