OFS Boxes need a SIM Card to connect to 4G Networks. For various reasons, you may need to install or remove a SIM Card from your OFS Box.
If you encounter any issues during the process, please reach out to OFS Support via email: support@ofsystems.com, or via phone from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday (AEST) via +613 8684 9859.
Tools Required:
We have designed the boxes such that maintenance can be performed with minimal tools.
To install or remove a sim card, you will need:
- 2.5mm Allen key or Screwdriver with a 2.5mm Hex bit.
- Sim removal tool or paperclip.
Opening the Box:
- Ensure that the box is powered off and the power supply is disconnected.
- Release the latches and open the lid.
- Use the 2.5mm Allen Key or Hex bit, to loosen and remove the 10 bolts around the perimeter of the acrylic faceplate. Keep the bolts together so that you don’t lose any.
- You should now be able to place your hand on the acrylic and flip the box upside down to remove the acrylic. Be careful as there are going to be wires attached to the inside of the box.
- Using the Sim removal tool, eject the Sim tray from the router by inserting it into the hole shown below.
- Install or remove the Sim card from the Sim tray, ensuring that the contacts are facing up.
- Re-insert the Sim tray entirely back into the router, again ensuring that the contacts are facing away from the acrylic panel.
- Place the acrylic and hardware assembly back inside the box, oriented so that the blue PLC device is on the left hand side.
- Re-install the 10 bolts back around the perimeter of the acrylic, being careful not to overtighten. These should only be installed hand-tight.
- Plug the power supply back into the box, turn it on using the switch and check that both the router and PLC have lights on.
- If everything is correct, the device should go online in OFS within ~5 minutes.
